In line with British Fencing Guidance for hot weather, there will be NO FENCING at Guildford Fencing Club this week (26th June) as we expect the hall temperature to be in excess of 32 degrees.
Here is the link for the British Fencing response to the Red Weather Alert. Link
While the Red Weather Alert lasts until Thursday, the temperature is expected to be above 30 degrees on Friday also, and the hall gets very hot. Given the amount of extra clothing required to fence safely, and the conditions of fencing last week, we will be prioritising the safety of all by cancelling this week’s session.
We hope to resume fencing next week.
