Beginners courses

Newsflash: the U13 course in September is now full!  Please do not attend unless your place has been confirmed.

Beginners courses this year will start of Friday 17th September.  There are separate web pages explaining what the courses offer and how to book: please click here for fencers ages 9-12 and here for older teens and adults. We have had a number of e-mails already expressing interest, so early booking is advised!

We plan to offer our next beginners courses starting in January next year, and will post the date here when confirmed.

Booking open for new term

The authum term has started.  If you have fenced before, you do not need to book in every week, but please complete an enrolment form and send it with the fees - details are on the form:  Word IconWord (.doc) PDF Icon Acrobat (.pdf). This of course includes all fencers who were on the beginners course last year.

As the requirements relating to Covid have changed, you do not need to book online every week.  However, if at all possible please give an e-mail address on the form, so we can notify cancellations.

Any epee or sabre fencers who used to attend at 6:30PM should now come at 8PM instead please (or, you could continue to come at 6:30 but fence foil).  This is because there were, unfortunately, too few epee and sabre fencers at this time.  We very much regret any difficulties this causes to travel arrangements etc.

All the other session times are unchanged.

Coaching this term

Unfortunately neither Ian nor Mark will be able to continue coaching at GFC this term - I am sure we all will wish them well. Brian Robinson will be coaching and I hope to make an announcement very soon about another coach to assist him.
