Guildford Fencing Club - Where we Fence

Welcome to the sport of Fencing! This unique and increasingly popular activity is enjoyed by people of all ages, and is an excellent method of keeping fit.

We train in one of the sports halls of St Peter's School in Merrow, Guildford.

Location of sports hall

Classes are held in St Peter's School, Horseshoe Lane East, Guildford, Surrey, England, GU1 2TN. Enter through the main gate and you can just see the sports hall between the two modern buildings ahead of you, as shown in the photograph.

(Note: Ignore the older part of the school on the right and the sign asking you to check in at reception).

There is ample parking in the school if you come by car, and there is usually space just past the school gates (where the red car is in the picture).  You then walk through the gap between the two newer buildings, and you will see the way into the sports hall on your left, up a short flight of steps not visible in the photo.

Changing facilities are available, but during Covid restrictions we ask that you arrive already changed if you can. Parents please note: the club does not supervise changing facilities.

The local bus routes changed again in April 2023. It is now bus route 7 that runs nearby; it runs to and from Guildford centre - check the timetables on the Surrey County Council site. The positions of bus stops are shown on Google Maps.

Although we hire premises from St Peter's School, we are not a part of the school at all. Their web site is at http://www.st-petersschool.co.uk/. Fencing club mail should be sent to the Club Secretary, not to the school.
